A side-handle teapot in coarse black stoneware, with a mountain and bird motif painted by hand across the body. The handle is turned wood with a brass ferrule, set at right angles to the spout so the pot pours with a turn of the wrist rather than a lift of the arm.
Features
- Coarse black stoneware with a matte, slightly grained surface
- Mountain and bird motif painted by hand, so no two are identical
- Turned wood side handle with a brass ferrule, which stays cool as the body heats
- Stepped ribbing around the lower body gives the fingers something to sit against
- Ceramic lid with a wooden toggle that lifts clear of the steam
- 290 ml, which fills two small cups without refilling
