A tea caddy turned from a single section of bamboo, with a push fit lid and no lacquer or paint anywhere on it. Bamboo is mildly porous, which is why it has been used for tea storage for a long time: it buffers small swings in humidity instead of sealing them in.
Features
- Turned from one section of bamboo, so the grain runs continuously around the wall
- Push fit lid that seats on an inner shoulder
- No lacquer, paint or varnish inside or out
- Carbonised finish, which darkens the natural colour and hardens the surface
- Light enough to travel with, at around 120 g empty
- Holds roughly 200 g of loose leaf and weighs about 120 g empty
